Details

Combivent Rotacaps consists of Levosalbutamol and Ipratropium Bromide as an important component.  This medication is a bronchodilator that assists in calming the muscles present in the airways resulting in enhancing the flow of air to the lungs. This medication is used for the treatment of bronchospasm (a condition of narrowing of bronchi) in person suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Combivent Rotacaps should not be used in following conditions such as:

  • If you are allergic to Levosalbutamol and Ipratropium Bromide, then you should not use this medication.
  • Avoid intake of this medication in case of a person suffering from heart disease.
  • If you are suffering from the problem of high blood pressure, then you should avoid intake of this medicine.
  • Consumption of this medicine should be avoided in case of epilepsy disorder and hyperthyroidism.

Drug Interaction of Combivent Rotacaps

  • Diuretics like Spironolactone, Furosemide
  • Beta blockers such as Atenolol, Carvedilol and Labetalol
  • Antidepressants like Amitriptyline, Doxepin and Nortriptyline
  • MAO inhibitors such as Furazolidone, Isocarboxazid, Phenelzine
  • Other Bronchodilators like Salmeterol and  Metaproterenol

 Storage Condition of Combivent Rotacaps

  • Store this medication at a room temperature of 20 to 250C.
  • It should be kept away from the reach of children.
  • Keep it away from the reach of children.

 Dosing Information of Combivent Rotacaps-

  • A person should inhale the dose 180 mcg i.e.2 inhalations after every 4–6 hours.
  • A Patient should place the inhaler inside the mouth and should spray it by pressing the canister and inhale the medication. Now hold your breath for 5 to 10 seconds and then remove the mouth piece. If you are consuming two inhalations, then you should wait for 15 seconds and then inhale the second dose. 

Various side effects shown by Combivent Rotacaps are chest pain, uneven heartbeats, tremor, nervousness, or low potassium levels which leads to confusion, extreme thirst, increased urination, leg discomfort,  muscle weakness, headache, dizziness, insomnia, cough, hoarseness, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, dry mouth and throat, muscle pain and diarrhea.

Remember While Using Combivent Rotacaps :

  • Use of this medication makes a person feel sleepy and it also impairs thinking, so you should not drive or do any task that needs full focus.
  • Pregnant females and breast feeding mothers should consume this medication by consulting a doctor.
  • While inhaling this medication, if this medication goes inside the eyes then wash your eyes with cold water.
